BlueWest Opportunities provides residential, vocational and supported employment services that offer persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities meaningful experiences focused on the whole person. We are proud to call Western North Carolina home and are grateful for the many opportunities our region affords us to explore, play and thrive.
Two Organizations in One
BlueWest Opportunities is the umbrella brand for the affiliation of Blue Ridge Area Foundation, Inc. and Western North Carolina Group Home for Autistic Persons, Inc. These two organizations that provide services and supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities formed an affiliation in July 2015. The two organizations share one executive leadership team to manage the operations of these two non-profit agencies. The relationship allows efficient practices in the administration of human resources, finance, facility maintenance, as well as ensuring compliance with service standards for each organization. The combined capacity for services includes 93 ICF/IID placements, 6 group living placements, 2 vocational service centers and North Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation supported employment opportunities. Services are provided in Buncombe, Madison and Mitchel counties of Western North Carolina.
We Love WNC
The Western region has a wealth of resources ranging from the beautiful landscape to the diversity of its community members. For more than 30 years our agencies have benefited from an atmosphere of inclusion and variety. Weather we are dining at a great restaurant, going for a hike, shopping with a local vendor or relaxing in yoga class there is something for everyone to enjoy.
