I was born Ohio but moved to the Black Mountain area when I was a child. I received my Undergraduate Degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
I worked for a local construction company that specialized in building custom homes and remodeling of commercial buildings for 15 years. I also worked for my local fire department during that time and hold Certifications as a Firefighter Level II, HAZ-MAT Operations Technician, Search and Rescue Level II Technician, and EMT.
I came to WNC Group Homes in 2014 as the Director of Facilities Maintenance and was very excited to join the organization. As WNC Group Homes and Blue Ridge Group Homes entered their affiliation in 2015, my responsibilities and the maintenance department grew quickly into the dedicated team of skilled professionals that it is today.
I enjoy the work I do because I can make a large impact in our residents’ lives and their environment in a short amount of time. Something as simple as changing the batteries in their television remote so that it works makes a difference in their day, which makes a difference in mine. In my time off I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, camping, playing golf, and skydiving.
